I write the first post in this newsletter just 4days back titled “Know this before using Browser Extension in your work #1“. Now, you will be able to related to that post in a much better way.

The OSINT Community on LinkedIn is going crazy right now. A browser extension, Instant Data Scraper is the new hot topic in OSINT community. It is one of the most popular and widely used browser extension with a 1M+ users, 7.2K ratings and widely mentioned in all popular OSINT tools collection.

The publisher's name of this extension suddenly changed. While it’s nothing new in tech world, acquisitions are pretty normal in the tech world. But here’s the interesting part, there was no official announcement about it. The developer didn’t even give a few minutes of his time to at least inform the existing users about this acquisition.

Someone in OSINT community noticed this and posted about it on LinkedIn.

After this announcement, a lot of people started posting about it. Micah Hoffman (from My OSINT Training) analyzed its source code using AI and found that it’s now doing the surveillance on the user. In simple words, it’s malicious now. You can read more about this in the post itself.

If you have that extension installed in your browser, uninstall it asap.

I expected something like will surely happen, but I didn’t expect this to happen so fast. I just warned you all about this just 4 days. Read the last post in this newsletter if you haven’t read it yet.

For those who don’t know much about me, before coming to OSINT world, i have been into a cybersecurity world. I can say i have amazing knowledge and experience of Cybersecurity and i will be sharing that with you all in this newsletter. But i need your support in it. I want to fully focus on this newsletter for next month. I want to write some amazing content that will change your perspective and your mindset. But for that, i need this newsletter to be self-sustainable financially. I will be ashamed of myself if i will ask for more money, so here’s a free solution we have.

Currently, this newsletter is running on a free Beehive account, i have ad offers from some really good companies in this newsletter. But i can’t add ads in free version, i will be needing a paid subscription which will cost me 50$ as that’s minimum. But I will be able to utilize all beehive features after getting paid subscription.
